Character. Charm. Warmth.

Hyne Flooring is produced from carefully managed native hardwood forests. It is ideally suited for suburban houses, city townhouses, busy corporate offices, restaurants, hotels and recreational and public buildings. The rich colours bring a timeless sense of style that is ideally suited for today’s modern styles or the more traditional designs.

Builders understand that kiln dried Hyne Flooring is expertly manufactured to provide consistent dimensions with maximum stability and strength. This conformity that facilitates an ease of installation, combines with the character, charm and warmth to provide builders with a finished floor that both they and their clients can be proud of.

Architects and Building Designers know that timber floors have very low maintenance and the lowest cost over time. Hyne Flooring complies with all the relevant Australian Standards and provides the opportunity to differentiate designs to enhance the value of a project.

For Timber Merchants, readily available supply of Hyne Flooring is available from Hyne Wholesale conveniently available in packs or in job lots. In some Wholesale locations, to support our customers demand, Hyne Flooring is supplemented with additional, externally sourced flooring in the same grades and species of Australian native hardwood. We ensure that this externally sourced flooring meets the same high quality standards as Hyne Flooring. Some Hyne Wholesale operations also stock Australian Cypress Pine flooring.

GRADES

Premium Grade

A clean, modern appearance obtained by selecting boards showing a minimal amount of natural features whilst exposing the tones and textures that distinguish the rich colours and grain patterns of the timber. This premium grade limits other natural features in the timber.

Character Grade

Embossed with nature’s signature including gum veins, insect markings, surface checks and small knots. This standard grade, which allows some natural features, while at the same time maintaining durability and structural performance.

FIXING

Your Hyne hardwood tongue and groove floor should be fixed and finished as per Timber Queensland Technical Data Sheets. Go to the download section on this page.

FINSIHING

There are many types of floor finishes currently available in the market place. These can be grouped into four board categories: oil based finishes, composite finishes (mixes of oil-based and solvent borne polyurethane finishes), solvent borne polyurethane finishes and water borne finishes.

The finishing of your Hyne flooring should be carried by a professional floor sander and finishing contractor. For further information on finishes refer to Timber Queensland Technical Data Sheet 21- Sanding finishing timber floors and Technical Data Sheet 31 - Acceptable appearance from timber floors.

MAINTENANCE

The frequency of maintenance will depend on the type of finish and how much traffic or use the floor endures. Feature timber floors should be regularly cleaned using dry methods. Antistatic or oil mops are also an effective means of cleaning.

Re-coating with stains or paint should be done in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. It is advisable to check the compatibility of proposed finishes with existing finishes.
